Campuses

FirstChurch Downtown Campus

FirstChurch in downtown Champaign is a church with a rich heritage of faith and service to God and our neighbors since 1850.

Worship services are held in the main church building. We have an 8 a.m. contemplative service, a 9 a.m. traditional service, led by our Sanctuary Choir, and a 10:30 a.m. traditional service led by a choral ensemble. Our Sanctuary, also called the Upper Room, is located on the second floor of the church building. Handicap access to the building is provided at the Hill Street entrances of the church with an elevator located in the northeast foyer. Sunday School classes are held in the Christian Education Building directly across the alley from the church.

Our downtown campus is located in downtown Champaign near West Side Park. Our main church building is located at the corner of Hill and State Street in Champaign. Our Christian Education Building, which provides classrooms for our Sunday School, is just across the alley from the church at the corner of Church and State. (Please note that State Street is a one-way street going south while Church Street is one-way going west.)

FirstChurch Southwest Campus

As part of our one church, two campuses model, our southwest campus serves the worship needs of Southwest Champaign. During the week, many who attend the southwest campus services on Sunday mornings also participate in the ministries and events that occur at the downtown campus. We are all in different places ... together.

Worship at the southwest campus is contemporary, with a band, contemporary Christian hymns, and multimedia. We offer adult education classes, which require no preparation and are open to all; we also offer youth Sunday School and childcare.

The worship service is held at Barkstall Elementary School at 2201 Hallbeck Drive, Champaign. Barkstall is located in the Southeast corner of the Cherry Hills subdivision, near the intersection of Mattis Avenue and Curtis Road.
