Music
Music at FirstChurch is integral to the life of the church. Music is worship. Music is praise. We are told in the Bible that when believers met together they sang a hymn. At the Last Supper, Jesus led the disciples in singing a hymn. The Psalmist tells us to make music with the sound of the trumpet, cymbal and lyre, with lute and harp. Sing and play and make music for the Lord.
Please read the following and join the church year round in making music for the Lord. You’ll meet wonderful people and make new friends.
Wednesdays are busy at First Presbyterian Church. Not only do all the youth music activities take place on Wednesday, but all the adult organizations do as well.
Adult Bell Choir (Upper Room Ringers) meets every Wednesday in the bell room at 5:45-7 p.m. Adults and high school students participate several times throughout the year in the worship services.
Simply Bells is a small number of ringers that perform outreach and mission playing at nursing homes, small organizations and our own church occasions. They meet on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. in the choir room.
Sanctuary Choir meets Wednesday evenings at 7-8:30 p.m. in the choir room. Everyone, high school through adult, are welcome and encouraged to come raise their voices in praise to the Lord. Special Music Sundays are presented during Advent and in the spring when major works are performed within the church service.
