Our Story
When we say church, we don’t mean our building. We mean our people. On Sunday, you’ll find them expressing worship together at one of our campuses. Monday through Saturday, you’ll find them throughout the community, serving others either in their jobs or as volunteers.FirstChurch has a long history and tradition of serving the community in a meaningful and expressive way. It’s what Jesus modeled for us. We look after the poor, homeless, youth and victimized. We are a voice for families. We take seriously the restoration of our environment.
Our members are encouraged to have a servant attitude in all things—to have a hand in the work.
It’s our opportunity,
It’s your opportunity,
to express a life of significance.
Our people are not perfect. We are broken before Jesus and seek his grace in order to be reassembled—to be expressed as the whole image in which we were created. In sharing our different stories we discover we are in different places … together.
We value varying points of view and passionate dialogue. We embrace tradition and innovation. We invite the rich and the poor. We welcome spiritual maturity and an inquiring mind. We honor our elderly and treasure the wisdom of their years. We are committed to our youth and are intentional about providing them with education and opportunity. All are God’s expressions of life.
Visit us just as you are. Wherever you are. It is our hope that you will be honored and respected as an individual and unique creation of God.
We are moved by the condition of your heart,
not the fabric of your clothes,
length of your hair,
or color of your skin.
Express your dreams and aspirations. Let us come along side your needs and wants.
We will worship together, break bread together, cry together, work together, play together, learn together, laugh together and pray together.
We’re all in different places … together.
