Service Opportunties

The volunteer network consists of those who are interested in finding out about opportunities for volunteer mission work by email. Periodically, a listing of the “most wanted” volunteers will be sent by email. In addition, requests for emergency help will be sent as necessary, and information about upcoming mission trips (Follow Me, Go and Serve, Mission for all Ages, Mission Possible, World Missions) will be provided. If you are interested in hearing about opportunities for carrying out Christ's work by helping those in need, please join the Volunteer Network.

To join, send your name, email address, and phone number to the church to info@firstchurchchampaign.org (and put “Volunteer Network” in the subject line). You can also join the list by U.S. Mail: First Presbyterian Church of Champaign, Attention: Volunteer Network, 302 W. Church St., Champaign, IL 61820.

The Deacons attention is focused upon the agencies that can be helped best. During the year, a Deacon is assigned to each agency as we work in partnership with them. Periodic discussions are held to determine special or unique needs that we may provide. The Deacons also look for unique community opportunities where the church membership can be involved in a more meaningful way. Such is the case when we joined Canaan Baptist church a few years ago to co-sponsor the SAFE House. (Continue Reading...)
